Guo Boxiong stressed that the PLA should speed up the military informatization construction with accelerating transformation of combat power generation mode as the main line, so as to continuously enhance the information-based systematic combat power.
Centering on the scientific development of the PLA informationization construction, the meeting aims to sort out the strategy and priorities of future development and construction, discuss measures and ways for promoting informationization work as well as organizing and using the information-based system of the PLA, and arrange the informationization construction work of the PLA for the next period.
After hearing the reports on informationization construction by the general headquarters/departments and services and arms of the PLA, Guo Boxiong said that to accelerate the transformation of combat power generation mode is the requirement for the overall army building and preparations for military struggles in which the informationization construction plays a leading role.
Guo Boxiong stressed that only when the informationization construction achievements applied into the army building and preparations for military struggles can they contribute to the generation and improvement of combat power.
Guo Boxiong pointed out that it is imperative to further improve the quality and benefit of the informationization construction, properly exploit the limited resources, and carve out a development road of lower investment and higher benefit.
CMC members Chen Bingde, Chang Wanquan, Jing Zhiyuan, Wu Shengli and Xu Qiliang attended the meeting. Zhang Qinsheng, deputy chief of general staff of the PLA, Gu Junshan, deputy director of the PLA General Logistics Department, and Li Andong, director of the Science and Technology Commission and deputy director of the PLA General Armaments Department, were also present at the meeting.
